Vashon Maury Island Land Trust It is the mission of the Vashon-Maury Land Trust to conserve lands to protect the natural ecosystems and rural character of Vashon-Maury Island. Wise Energy Vashon Located a half-hour ferry ride from Seattle, many of Vashon Island’s 11,000 residents recognize the need to work as a community in order to secure a sustainable future. Climate change and rising energy costs are a concern to all of us. Presented by our energy challenges, a number of us have been meeting over the past months to look at ways we could transition to a renewable and lower energy future. Through these discussions, we have decided to proceed with a new community- based initiative, WISENERGY VASHON.
